This Privacy Policy describes how the Narayanganj Bar Directory app ("the App") collects, uses, and protects information. The App is developed and published by Hasib Ul Hasan ("we", "us", "our") and provides searchable directories of members registered with the Narayanganj District Bar Association ("NDBA") and the Narayanganj Taxes Bar Association ("NTBA").

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

Information We Collect

1. Information you provide when registering

To use the App, you register with:

• Phone number
• Full name
• Whether you are an advocate, and if so, which bar association you belong to
• Member ID (for members verified against NDBA's or NTBA's own membership records)

We also automatically record usage and login timestamps (when you first registered and when you last used the App) to maintain your account and detect misuse.

2. Member directory information

The App displays two directories: NDBA advocates, sourced from NDBA's own publicly available membership records (ndbabd.com), and NTBA members (both advocates and income tax practitioners), sourced from NTBA's own publicly available membership records (ntbabd.com). Depending on the directory, this may include:

• Name
• Member ID
• Phone number
• Address
• Photograph
• NDBA directory only: Blood group, email address, thana (local jurisdiction), dates of membership and enrollment, Bar Council Sanad (enrollment certificate) number, practice area

This information is published by NDBA or NTBA as part of their public member directories and is displayed within the App for the purpose of helping the public and fellow members locate and identify registered advocates and tax practitioners.

Blood group is shown in the NDBA directory list to all users of the App, consistent with NDBA's own printed member directory, where blood group is published for every member for emergency identification purposes. The App does not independently collect or verify this information — it is republished as-is from NDBA's existing public records. NTBA's own published records do not reliably include blood group, so it is not displayed for NTBA members.

We gratefully acknowledge the Narayanganj District Bar Association and the Narayanganj Taxes Bar Association for maintaining and publishing the member records that make these directories possible.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

• Verify member status and Member ID against NDBA's or NTBA's records
• Maintain your registration and recognize you on future visits to the App
• Operate, maintain, and improve the directory
• Detect and prevent misuse of the App (for example, blocking access from a specific phone number if necessary)

How We Store Information

All data is stored using Firebase (Google Cloud Platform), specifically Cloud Firestore. Google's infrastructure provides industry-standard security safeguards for data in transit and at rest. We do not maintain separate physical servers of our own.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Information is used solely to operate the App as described above.

Data Retention and Your Choices

We currently do not offer a self-service option to delete your account or data from within the App. If you would like your registration data removed or corrected, please contact us at the email address below, and we will process your request.

Children's Privacy

The App is intended for use by legal professionals and members of the general public seeking legal directory services. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we store, including relying on Firebase's built-in security infrastructure and access controls. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
